Born in Scarborough, Roxanne James graduated from Agincourt Collegiate and later on attended Centennial College. Roxanne also attended the Ontario Real Estate Association’s Real Estate College.
Roxanne has almost 20 years experience in the I.T. industry. Before being elected to office, Roxanne was employed as a Real Estate Professional serving the
Greater Toronto Area.
Roxanne has actively worked in improving her community and is a past member of the Wexford Heights BIA (Business Improvement Area). Given the challenges the global recession presented all Canadians, Roxanne knows that working to help stimulate local businesses is key to helping Scarborough grow.
Roxanne has been appointed to the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration (CIMM) and the Standing Committee on the Status of Women (FEWO). She is ready to be a voice for these key groups and issues that affect her riding and Canadian society.
Roxanne also shares the values and concerns of her neighbours in the community. Protecting the safety of families, and especially children, must remain a priority.
She is dedicated to helping make streets and communities safer with tougher sentencing for violent criminals. Moreover, Roxanne believes that the tax burden on Scarborough families is too high.
She is determined to help make her community safer, to stand up for families and seniors, and looks forward to bringing her passion for action to Ottawa as the
Member of Parliament for Scarborough Centre.
Roxanne is married to Robert, a firefighter with the City of Toronto, and they have three children.
