Scarborough, ON. On August 17, 2011 Roxanne James, Member of Parliament for Scarborough Centre, attended the official ceremony to celebrate the renovation and expansion of the East Scarborough Boys’ and Girls’ Club facility.
Highlights of the new facility included an 8,000 sq. foot expansion, new roofing, a new gymnasium, and additional electrical and plumbing upgrades.
M.P. James was proud to represent federal government support through the Recreational Infrastructure Canada (RInC) Program of $1.2 million for the projects which serve the needs of the next generation of Scarborough citizens.
“The new addition to the Boys’ and Girls’ Club will allow greater access to recreational and educational activities for young people in the Scarborough community,” said M.P. James. “Through Canada’s Economic Action Plan, we are creating jobs and providing residents with recreational spaces where they can gather and remain active for years to come,” She concluded.
